Short Courses

For this task, I have been asked to research in to progression opportunities after college, rather than University. For those who want to broaden their Hair and Make-Up skill, without attending another three years in higher education, there is the option of short courses.

Fall Make-Up Trends You Can Recreate With Your Training

There are many in person options, whether they be schools such as; The Delamar Academy and The Iver Academy, or brand workshops, run directly by brands such as Kryolan and MAC. Many brands such as PLOUISE also offer online training.

These courses usually last between one and five days, however you can attend longer courses that may last up to six months. The online courses usually last between six months to one year, to ensure they work around your usual day-to-day life. Additionally, they are usually focused around one subject (like a shortened version of one University module, rather than a whole range of techniques).

Furthermore, these courses are usually taught by a mixture of past and present professionals in the industry, giving excellent networking opportunities, allowing you to create invaluable connections. These classes could be attended to learn new skills, build upon or specialize in chosen subjects, or refresh your memory and keep up to date with new products and techniques.

Although these courses are great, they can be expensive, therefore Hair and Make-Up artists will often have to work hard and save before being able to attend these schools.
