Look 4 – Anxiety

In this post I have completed an evaluation my final look, based on anxiety.

Make-up

I think this make-up look is the most effective look I have created, other than my assessment piece. I feel this look really helps to capture how frightening and tormenting anxiety can feel, building a charter around these ideas. Therefore, I feel I have created a very effective makeup look, sticking to my face plan, and representing the idea I wanted to present. I am really happy with the effect created by the eye shadow, and feel it builds upon the idea that anxieties can spread. Although I like the lip, and feel it helps to give the overall look a more editorial feel, I think it could have been executed better as if you look closely, the gradient isn’t even, all the way round.

Hair

Although it did create a great finished look, the finger waves could have definitely been better executed. However, as previously discussed this is one of the techniques I struggle with the most, so I am glad I persevered with my ideas, and used the style within this series.

Costume

For the costume of this design, I dressed my model in a dark bomber jacket. Much like the body dysmorphia look, this helped to present the idea pf a tough, frightening and authoritative figure. As I was trying to represent what I think anxiety may look like as a person, rather than visualising its symptoms, I feel this worked extremely well. Furthermore, the addition of the embellished choker helped further amplify this idea.

Photography

Additionally, the more posed, menacing faces my model pulled, helps build this idea even further. These images perfectly capture what I wanted to represent within my designs, and I am extremely happy with the outcomes.
